Problem

Save as PDF does not function on Windows 10

Solution

When you are unable to use the Save as PDF function of the program, please follow these steps below to continue. 

One suggestion you may want to try is Microsoft Print to PDF is installed to the computer.



To determine if Microsoft Print to PDF is available use the following steps:

  1. Open Control Panel.

  2. If the View by (upper right side of screen) is set to Category locate Hardware and Sound, click View devices and printers.

  3. If the View by (upper right side of screen) is set to Large or Small Icons, click on Devices and Printers.

  4. Look for Microsoft Print to PDF.



If the Microsoft Print to PDF is not available in Devices and Printers use the following steps to activate it.

  1. Open Control Panel.

  2. If the View by (upper right side of screen) is set to Category locate Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  3. If the View by (upper right side of screen) is set to Large or Small Icons, Programs and Features.

  4. Click on: Turn Windows features on or off. This may take some time to display the list of options.

  5. Locate Microsoft Print to PDF, click the box in front of Microsoft Print to PDF to select this option.

  6. Click OK.

Microsoft Print to PDF will now be available in Devices and Printers.



To use the Microsoft Print to PDF Converter use the following steps:

  1. Click on Print instead of Save as PDF.

  2. Click on the Setup or Properties button.

  3. Change the printer to Microsoft Print to PDF.

  4. Click Print.

  5. Wait for the Save As Windows to display, this may take some time depending on the size of the project file.

      Add the name of the project file.

  6. Click Save.

The PDF file will be saved in the Documents folder.
