Problem

This file does not appear to be a TPS3.0 or TPS 2.0 formatted project file.

Solution

When getting the error message “This file does not appear to be a TPS3.0 or TPS 2.0 formatted project file.” use the following steps to resolve the issue.

 

Windows 8.1 & 10:

1. From the Start screen type This PC once the icon appears double click it.

2. Double click the hard drive C:.

3. Double click the User Folder.

4. Double click the user name folder, i.e. jsmith.

5. Double click AppData. NOTE: If you do not see an AppData folder use the following tech note to Show

Hidden Files and Folders please refer to the steps at the end of this support article.

6. Double click the Local folder.

7. Locate the Print Shop folder and double click on it.

8. Double click The Print Shop 4.0 Deluxe or Professional folder depending on the version installed to

the computer.

9. Click the userData.psDB file one time to highlight.

10. Click File and then Delete.

11. Click Yes you want to move the file to the recycling bin.

12. Close the windows until back to the desktop. Open the recycling bin and empty it, then reboot the computer.



Windows Vista & 7:

1. Click the Start button, click Computer.

2. Double click the hard drive C:.

3. Double click the User Folder.

4. Double click the user name folder, i.e. jsmith.

Resolving some software issues will require you to view the Hidden Files and Folders on your computer.

Use the following steps to display hidden files and folders.



Windows Vista and 7

To display hidden files and folders.



1. Open Folder Options by click the Start button, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization, click Folder Options.

2. Click the View tab.

3. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click APPLY.



Windows 8, 8.1 & 10

To display hidden files and folders.



1. Open Folder Options by typing Control Panel on the Start screen, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization, click Folder Options.

2. Click the View tab.

3. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click APPLY.

4. On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders, click Apply.



Note: Hidden files and folders will appear dimmed to indicate they are not typical items. Usually, hidden files are program or system files that should not be deleted or changed. To display other hidden files, clear the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box.



Once the computer is restarted launch Print Shop 4.0.
